MOTORSPORT

This is a BMW 120d Motorsport modified with a BMW customer racing kit entered by Schubert Motors in the 24 Hours Nurburgring race. Now it doesn’t have the new twin turbodiesel inline-4 that the BMW 123d coupe has, however the racing kit gives it even more power than the 123d has in stock form – we’re talking about 245hp at 4,200rpm with a 5,000rpm redline as well as a collosal 450Nm of torque at 3,000rpm.

Brakes have been upgraded to 6-piston brakes at the front and 4-piston calipers at the rear. The car weighs 1,135kg including drive, which is very little to pull around considering it has 450Nm of torque driven through only two driven rear wheels. We’re talking about ridiculous amounts of wheelspin here.

Anyone with a 120d can transform their car into this monster using the customer racing kit – at a price though: 95,000 Euros or roughly 450,000 ringgit but that doesn’t include import and other miscellaneous taxation yet.

Check out a few more photos of different angles after the jump.

2006 BMW Z4 M Coupe Motorsport Version

Unveiling in Geneva: On the occasion of the Automobilsalon, Prof Dr Burkhard Göschel, BMW Group Board Member Purchasing and Development, introduced a new racing car for customer motor racing. The Motorsport Version of the BMW Z4 M Coupé, which has already made a big impression as a production model, is the first two-seater BMW Motorsport offers for customer teams. When it came to the development BMW faced a huge challenge: The car had to have what is needed to race successfully on the world’s most demanding and spectacular racetrack, the Nürburgring’s famous Nordschleife. The new motorsport coupé can be used by private BMW customer teams in the German Endurance Championship and in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race.
The power unit of the beefy coupe is a BMW Motorsport designed 3.2-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine delivering about 400bhp, with the suspension area in particular benefiting from the knowledge gained from the successful BMW M3 GTR project.

With its varied component ranges, BMW Motorsport and BMW Racing Parts Distribution offer customer teams a new technology platform for use in many miscellaneous international racing and club sport series with the Nordschleife enthusiasts not being the only interested party, as the brawny coupe also represents the perfect car for use in the Belgian Belcar series and other, non-European, endurance series

The kit can be ordered from May 2006 at BMW Motorsport and will be available for an estimated € 250,000 (plus VAT).

2010 Renault DeZir Concept

Unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, DeZir Concept is mentioned as the first evidence of Renault design’s new vision for the future. The ‘Z’ in the name DeZir is a direct reference to Renault’s zero-emission Z.E. signature, and several features of its design are suggestive of two qualities readily associated with electric mobility, namely advanced technology and light weight

Renault DeZir Concept is powered by an electric synchronous motor mounted in a mid-rear position to optimize weight distribution over the front and rear wheels. The vertically-mounted 24kWh lithium-ion battery provides the car with a range of 100 miles, maximum power of 110kW c/ 150hp, and maximum torque of 226Nm. The top speed is 112mph.

DeZir’s suspension also shares certain features with that of Mégane Trophy – including a double wishbone arrangement. The aerodynamics has been carefully honed, too, thanks to full underbody fairing and a rear diffuser. The result of this work is a drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.25, and acceleration from rest to 62mph in just five seconds.

DeZir’s also features energy efficiency package that includes the recovery of deceleration energy. The technology it employs is based on the same principles as the KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) seen in Formula 1. When the car decelerates, kinetic energy is recovered and stored in the battery.

BEAUTY TIPS

HAIR CARE FOR DIFFERENT HAIR TYPES

Hair comprises of one of those features that can make or mar the personality of a person. The type of your hair, as well as the way you style it, can go a long way in adding to your looks. All the people in this world are not gifted with the same type of hair. While some people take pride on their curly locks, others are simply in love with their straight hair. Then, there are some who have wavy hair, which is neither curly, nor straight. Whatever be the type of your hair, you need to take proper care of it, lest it gets damaged and loses its beauty. In the following lines, we have provided hair care tips for three different hair types - curly, wavy and straight.

Hair Care for Curly Hair
Avoid using hair dryer as much as possible, since curly hair tends to be very fragile. Let your hair air-dry as much as possible.
Never ever brush your curls, if you do not want to end up having frizzy hair. Rather, sort out the tangles with the help of your fingers.
Never ever wash your curly hair on a daily basis. It would rob it of the natural oils and contribute to the frizz.
Stay away from hair care products, like grease, mousses and gels, as much as you can.
Massage your scalp with coconut oil, jojoba oil or Aloe Vera juice 1-2 times in a week.
Since curly hair is prone to dryness, you should make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner regularly.
Hair Care for Wavy Hair
Get your hair trimmed once every six to eight weeks. This will prevent split ends to quite an extent.
Rather than letting your wavy hair air-dry, towel-dry it as much as possible.
After washing your wavy hair, never ever bunch it on top of your head. It will create unnecessary knots and frizz.
Always use a wide-tooth comb to detangle your wavy hair. However, do not tug at knots, as it leads to breakage.
For wavy hair, it is advisable to make use of shine-enhancing shampoo and conditioner.
Indulge in detoxification of your hair about once a month.
Hair Care for Straight Hair
Wash your hair either on a daily basis or at least on alternate days.
Avoid using curling iron on your hair and even if you use it, make sure to keep the heat setting on low.
Never brush your hair when it is still wet. If you need to detangle it, make use of your fingers for the purpose.
Do not rub your wet hair with a towel. Rather, use it to squeeze out water from the hair, gently.
After applying conditioner on your hair, and before rinsing it out, comb your hair, using a wide-toothed comb.
Do not touch or play with your hair every now and then. Rather, avoid touching your hair as much as possible.

BASIC SKIN CARE

Healthy and supple skin is not so much of a dream if you take proper precautions and pay attention to your diet and exercise. Balanced diet, hydration and protecting from sun and wind should be a part of your daily regimen. Here are the four basic steps to skin care that are mandatory and cannot be skipped on any account, if you want a naturally glowing skin. It is important that you use the products according to your skin type. You have to pay attention to the order of the steps too:

1. Cleansing The Skin
Cleansing is quite essential to avoid acnes and other skin problems. Wash your skin often using a mild face wash and wipe off with a clean washcloth. It is quite important to get rid of any impurities such as dirt particles and makeup before going to sleep so that your skin can breathe properly at night. Use mild cleanser at least twice a day but make sure that it rinses away easily, does not cause skin irritation and do not wash away natural oils too.

2. Toning The Skin
Toners not only cleanse the skin further and help in removing any remnants of particles that you may have left behind but also cools, nourishes, hydrates and freshens up your skin. It tightens up skin and close up any skin pores that may have opened up while deep cleansing the face. Toners must be alcohol-free as alcohol dries off skin.

3. Exfoliating The Skin
Exfoliants remove dead cells from the skin, rejuvenate the skin and eliminate fine lines and wrinkles from the face. The younger skin that surfaces after exfoliation naturally looks more beautiful and glowing. These products usually have alpha or beta hydroxy acids to quicken up the process but do avoid the ones that are granular as they tend to damage the new skin too that is much more sensitive than the mature layer that it digests.

4. Moisturizing The Skin
Like our body, our skin also needs hydration and proper nutrients to keep it healthy. So, treat it with a good moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen with more than SPF 15 daily and night cream daily that helps the skin to balance and restores any damage that might have occurred to it overnight.

MAKEUP GUIDE

All those models may appear damn gorgeous, but very few know the factor behind those killer looks. Obviously to look beautiful, one needs to be in perfect shape; but one more thing contributing to that perfection is the right make-up. An average looking face can be made pretty by using correct make-up. Coming to the technical part, make-up is a sub-set of cosmetics and refers mainly to the colored products which are used to change the user's appearance. In today's world when there are ample of make-up products in the markets, it becomes difficult for a person to choose the right ones. Read make-up guide further to gather more information about make-up, its types and variation ideas.

Understand Your Skin Type
The first key to make-up is, understanding your skin type. People with different skin types require different type of make-up. Say, a woman having oily skin could not afford glossy make-up. Likewise, a girl with dry skin cannot use matt-finish make-up. However, a person with normal skin can experiment with any type of make-up. If you know your skin-type, it would be much easier for you to buy the right make-up products.

Check Out The Make-Up Products
As mentioned, markets are loaded with beauty products. Some of the make-up products for lips are lipstick, lip gloss, lip liner, lip plumper, lip balm, lip conditioner, and lip booster; for face are foundation, powder, rouge, blush or blusher, bronzer, and concealer; for eyes are mascara and lash extender, lash conditioner, eye liner, eye shadow, eye shimmer, and glitter eye pencils, eyebrow pencils, creams, waxes, gels and powders; for nails are nail polish, etc. Choose the products about to your requirements and skin type.

Types of Make-Up - To Know What Suits You The Best
Some people prefer to have natural look, while some wanted to have those stunning looks. It is a matter of choice that's for sure. For a sun-kissed look, women use more of bronzer and shimmers. However, makeup in the form of gel is usually used to impart wet-look. Women, who want to look beautiful at all times, get permanent make-up done which is actually a type of cosmetic surgery. However, ladies, who prefer natural look, opt for organic mineral make-up which contains mineral pigments and organic plant extracts, oils and waxes. Organic make-up is definitely good as it doesn't cause any harm to the skin or other body parts.

Make-Up According To Occasions
Every time you cannot afford to look like a princess. According to the occasion and time, you must make variations in your make-up. Say, on a hot summery day, glossy make-up or dark shades won't make you appealing to the onlooker. At that time, it would be better to use mild shades and sober make-up. For a social gathering, you must do make-up according to your attire and party-mood. Perhaps it is always better to use softer shades in summers; however dark shades appear okay at night. Likewise, dark shades and glossy make-up appear nice in winters. On daily basis, women like to do minimal make-up which is easy to apply, making them look naturally good.

SKIN WHITENING SECRET

The secret of staying young is to eat the right food. From ancient time, milk has been linked with beauty-it is an elixir for slowing the effects of aging. Ag-Factor™ Cysteine Peptide is derived from milk using sophisticated separation technology and patent pending knowlegde. The result is a lactose free and highly nutritious component of milk (whey protein) that FDA has approved with GRAS ( Generally Recognized as Safe) status.

Cysteine Peptide is a powerful food for youthful skin and for safeguarding our internal organs and brain from the devastating effect of free radicals. How young we stay relative to our age are determined by our body's most powerful antioxidant - Glutathione. Production of Glutathione however declines as we age from twenty onwards.

Cysteine is a precursor of glutathione, an anti-oxidant that is prevalent in every cell in the human body especially in the liver where it is abundantly present. Glutathione not only defend our body from the effects of aging, it also neutralizes toxic pollutants and is a most effective prevention against diseases such as HIV and Cancer.

health and vitality, improved tone, smoother skin, and less wrinkles.
Most benefits would be noticeable within 3 months.

DANDRUFF

In the present times, dandruff has become a common hair problem, which bothers many people. Characterized as excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp, it can either be chronic in nature or caused by certain specific triggers. One of the most common triggers of dandruff is frequent exposure to extreme heat and cold, apart from chronic constipation, stress, fatigue, pollution and excessive use of hair styling products. The unusually large amount of flaking - one of the main symptoms of dandruff, might be accompanied by redness and irritation as well. If you are also suffering from dandruff and want to explore ways to get rid of it, the following lines will come handy.

How To Get Rid Of Dandruff
Tea tree oil, with anti-fungal properties, serves as one of the best cures for dandruff. Mix a few drops of the oil to your hair oil and massage your scalp with the same, once every week.
Dilute Cider vinegar, by adding one part of the vinegar to three parts of water. After shampooing your hair and rinsing off the lather well, use this solution for the final rinse.

Get fresh Aloe Vera gel and apply it all over your scalp. After letting it sit for half an hour, wash your hair well.
Heat coconut oil slightly and massage your scalp with the same. Let the oil remain on the scalp overnight and wash your hair in the morning. Do this at least three times in a week.
In a cup of water, put 1 tsp fenugreek seeds and let them soak overnight. In the morning, drain the water and grind the seeds to a fine paste. Now, apply it all over the scalp, let it sit for 30 minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

EYE MAKEUP TRICKS

Blue, brown, hazel, or green, eyes are regarded as the windows to the soul, allowing one to exchange glances and to better grasp one’s personality and emotions. Human eyes are the perfect revealer of not only joy and elation, but also of sadness, melancholy, and distress. Those little secrets, that are otherwise missed whilst dealing with people we love and respect, are communicated through the pensive and mysterious eyes. Whether you are on the verge of seducing your crush or trying to exchange a wink, whilst enjoying an amusing joke, your long, dark eyelashes are sufficient to attract men towards you. As such, made-up eyes can better reveal and attract guys towards you as opposed to the naked eyes. Learn how to artfully and professionally apply eye makeup giving your eyes that perfect oomph through some simple tips and tricks. Look through the following lines and get seductive, sexy, glamorous, polished, and beautiful eyes.

EYE MAKEUP TIPS AND SECRETS

Define Your Eyebrows
Well-defined eyebrows help in achieving a polished and sophisticated eye makeup. Leaving your brows unruly and disorganized simply means you are giving your eyes a great opportunity to miss that natural eye look. Hence, bring out your eyes by tweezing or waxing excess hair, proceeding with combing the brows down. Highlight them by applying a brow highlighter in half shade lighter than the natural hair color. Keep the hair in place by spraying a tiny amount of hairspray on your brows.

Apply A Base
Applying base products help in retaining the makeup throughout the day and prevent it from smearing. Apply the base before you proceed with the main eye makeup. Allow it to dry completely and then continue with eye shadow and eyeliner. To get the right base, you can use a dab of foundation, some pressed powder, or a light colored eye shadow. However, you can even find products in the market designed especially to be used as a base.

Choose The Perfect Colors
Considering your eyes and complexion, you have several options to choose your eye makeup colors. Say, for instance, you can experiment with smoky grey tones, blue, dark brown, light pink, white, and black for brown eyes. Similarly, for small eyes, go for shimmery tones, such as blue, brown, gray, or green, while for larger eyes, deep and warm shades, like dark brown or black can do the job.

Curl Your Lashes
To give your peepers a dramatic appearance, take an extra one minute to define your eyelashes. Curl your eyelashes and apply one coat of mascara immediately. Open up your eyes and you have more defined and large eyelashes. However, if you have never used a lash curler, consult an expert to learn the right technique.

Apply Eyeliner
Applying the right amount of eyeliner is a tricky job. While applying too much of it can give your eyes a smaller feel, dabbing too little will hardly be noticed. For long lasting eyeliner, use mascara instead of eyeliner. Pull the corner of the eye slightly outward, dip a thin liquid eyeliner brush into a mascara tube, and apply a thin, smooth line on the top and bottom eyelids. You can apply a thicker and darker line for a dramatic look, or leave it thin and light for a subtle definition. For smoky eyes, blend darker shades of brown or gray with the applied eyeliner after it has dried.

ABOUT DEEPAVALI

Deepavali, the festival of lights is celebrated by the Hindus worldwide. In Malaysia, this time of the year which is usually around late October to November is the time of color where you can see lights everywhere especially at the temple.
The festival is the main celebration, an important one for Hindus whereby they light the oil lamps to thank their god for everything they have and own. Early in the morning of Deepavali, the oil lamps will be light to mark the beginning of the celebration.
Usually, preparations were done two to three weeks before hand. Just like other celebrations; Hari Raya and Chinese New Year, they prepare by cleaning their house, get sets of new clothes, shop for home decor and some even find the need to renovate their house.
During this period of time, get yourself ready to walk into the crowd. Brickfields is the best example. With the Indian shops selling greeting cards, carpets, saris, Punjabi suits, flowers, pots and many more. Go to the Little India street near you so you’ll get to experience the atmosphere.
On the real day itself, the devotees wake up about 3am to take turns for their oil bath, the very first thing to do and also the highlight of the ritual. Then they’ll dress their best in their new suits either silk saris or the Punjabi suits, which is colorful. Black is considered inauspicious therefore Hindus will avoid that on Deepavali.
Then off they go to the temples after they pay their respects to their elders and had their breakfast. They usually pray on the first day to ask for happiness and prosperity for the year and would usually stay at home to welcome their visitors.
Behind this holy celebration, there’s a legend to it that some of you might not know. Narakasura, a demon who rule Pradyoshapuram, make his villagers go through moments of hardship, torturing them and making them suffered while women will be kidnapped and locked in his palace. Lord Krishna who can’t stand seeing this sight made an effort to destroy Narakasura. On the day the demon is dead, it was the day the villagers celebrated Deepavali, a celebration of good over evil.
Deepavali 2010 falls on the 5th of November so we in 701Panduan wishes you Happy Deepavali!

AROWANA

AROWANA FISH

Arowana Fish (sometimes called dragon fish) can be a great choice for those that think big. Some varieties can grow up to Four feet long (120cm). They can be feisty, though become tamer with age to the point of eating from your fingers, and not the fingers themselves. The Arowana Fish comes from somewhat primitive origins (Jurassic Age), and some varieties are nicknamed “Bony Tongued Fish”.

Arowana fish are carnivores, though will generally eat nearly anything. Young Arowana Fish may be fed frozen or live brine shrimp, black worms, and even small fish. When older, some larger fish will do. Baby Arowana Fish should be fed maybe 3 times a day, medium sized twice a day, and adults once a day, or even once every other day. Variety is important for a well balanced diet in Arowana Fish just like for most other fish.

The Arowana eating habits produce a lot of waste and you should therefore, pay extra attention to water conditions (Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate) in your aquarium. Changing 25% to 33% of the water weekly is advisable, or better yet, 20% twice a week. You should maintain the pH neutral. Pay particular attention to the temperature and pH ranges suggested below on the various species, since if you have it too warm, it might cause them to age faster, look less Arowana, and even shorten their life. A to cold temperature might on the other hand kill them.

Generally, a good healthy Arowana Fish will grow to be at least 24 to 30 inches (60-75cm). Some varieties can become 48 inches (120 cm) in the wild. They may be aggressive (definitely not good community fish), and Arowana fish can sometimes be best kept alone in an aquarium. Remember that other smaller fish in the tank may become their dinner.

Arowana fish will often swim in the top of the aquarium, and are capable of jumping from the aquarium. Keep the aquarium well covered to avoid coming home to a dead pet. Silver Arowana Fish in the wild have been known to jump at insects in trees.

Arowana Fish may live for many years, and if well cared for Arowana fish may live longer than 20 years in captivity. If you keep the aquarium temperature towards the lower end, they may look young longer than they would in a higher temperaturel. Please pay particular attention to each Arowana Fish’s needs below.

The Asian Arowana or Golden Arowana (Scleropages formosus) is considered an endangered species. Care should be taken to follow the law in purchasing and transporting them. Asian Arowana fish generally can grow to about 36 inches, and are often much more expensive then the other Arowana species. These are well known and popular South East Asia where they are believed to bring luck. Feeding them healthy Guppies, Gold Fish, Frogs, or Shrimp makes a good stable diet. The temperature is best kept between 75 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 C), and a pH level between 7.0 and 7.5 are advisable.

The Silver Arowana (Osteoglossum bicirrhosum) comes from the Amazon Basin. They can grow to around 48 inches in the wild, and are usually the cheapest Arowana species. Silver Arowana can be more jumpy then the other species and more than one Silver Arowana have jumped to their death in a badly covered aquarium.

Silver Arowana may take a while to adjust to non-live food. Sometimes to the brink of starvation. Feed them meaty food like, fish, crab, or Shrimp (try to avoid the salt). This Arowana Fish thrives in temperatures between 75 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 C), and pH between 6 and 7. Young Silver Arowana should not be in a tank shorter then 36 inches/ 90 cm, and as they get older, 48 inches/ 120 cm though when your Arowana fish reaches 15 inches/ 40 cm they will need a much larger tank. These Arowana Fish can become aggressive towards similar species and should be kept alone in the aquarium tank unless it is very big. They can also be kept with larger catfish and a few other species. They are a definitely predator and will eat smaller fish. As juveniles, they may be suitable for smaller home aquarium, though with growth, they are likely to outgrow the home and become suitable only for large public aquariums.

The Spotted Arowana (Scleropages leichardti) is mostly found from Southern Australia. They can grow to around 36 inches/ 90 cm (they do however only seldom reach this length in an aquarium), and are less sought after then the Asian Arowana. They are also called Dawson River Saratoga, Southern Saratoga, Spotted Barramundi, Australian Spotted Arowana, and Leichardti Saratoga. They tend to stay closer to the bottom than other Arowana fish species. This means that it sometimes is possible to keep them with Silver Arowana fish. As far as food, they are capable of eating most things that will fit their mouth (crickets, Hikari pellets, insects, etc). This Arowana fish species prefers a temperatures between 75 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 C), and a pH level between 6.5 and 7.5. They may be territorial and aggressive.

The Northern Arowana (Scleropages jardini) is found mostly in Northern Australia. They can grow to around 36 inches/ 90 cm. They are also called Northern Saratoga, Jardine Saratoga, Gulf Saratoga, Australian Gold or Pearl Arowana and Jardini Saratoga. They eat similar food as the Spotted Arowana (Southern Australia), and are less likely to jump out of the tank than other species (though they might). This variety of Arowana Fish is best kept at a pH level of 6.0 - 7.5 and temperatures of 72 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit (22-27 C). While less aggressive then others, they are still predators and will likely eat anything that will fit in their mouths. They will eat Crayfish, Fish, Insects, and pellets with a little effort to get them started.

The African Arowana (Heterotis niloticus) comes from western and central Africa. They grow up to around 40 inches/100 cm. They are more rare than other Arowana Fish species. They are predators known to eat small fish. This Arowana Fish prefers temperatures between 75 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 C) and a pH level of 6.7 to 7.5 (7.0 preferred). They eat shrimp, fish, live worms, and insects in captivity.

The Black Arowana fish (Osteoglossum ferreirai) comes from South America in the Rio Negro basin. They grow up to around 40 inches / 100 com, though they seldom reach this length in captivity. The Black Arowana fish eat live fish, large insects, spiders, Tubifex worms, and may also eat pellets and flakes (not all specimens accept pellets and flakes). Young Arowana fish of this species tend to be delicate, though older fish tend to be more hardy. They prefer a pH level of 5-7 with 6.4 being the optimum level, and temperatures between 75 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit (24-30 C).
